This luxurious massage is done using a special milk & honey mixture.
Real milk, honey and beeswax is combined, warmed up and applied to the
womb. A warmed towel is then placed over your belly to assist the pores
in opening and accepting the treatment. The mixture is then re-applied
to the womb and gently massaged until it crystallizes. The milk and honey
mixture is known to help reduce stretch marks, and improve the overall
quality and vitality of the skin. If you are experiencing any itching
from your skin stretching – this will definitely do the trick. This
prenatal treatment is popular in Europe, to decrease stretch marks and
add elasticity to the skin. Fee: $55
Edema Release:
Edema or swelling on the top of the feet or around the ankles is the result
of accumulation of fluid in the fatty tissue under the skin. Due to many
factors to include poor diet, over exertion, and/or hormonal changes (estrogen),
this condition is very common during and after pregnancy. This specialized
massage, which includes trigger-point reflexology and stroke work on the
foot and calf, stimulates lymphatic circulation, which ultimately decreases
swelling. Using Chinese oil, peppermint lotion and manipulating both hot
and cold water in a vibrating footbath, blood vessels are forced to contract,
hence, ultimately releasing trapped water. Fee: $95
Reflexology Labor
Induction:
This therapeutic massage is designed to help women avoid receiving Pitocin
labor inductions in the hospital, and rather, initiate labor naturally
through trigger-point therapy. Manipulation of four pressure points is
utilized, to which consistent pressure is applied over a 60 minute session.
Using a foot bath, aromatherapy herbal packs, a Neroli-water mister, Chinese
Oil (Eucalyptus, Menthyol, 8 different Chinese herbs) and a newly created,
unique specialty oil created by NICC especially for this body treatment,
the feet are massaged to induce labor. Labor is expected to commence within
24 – 48 hours if the therapy is successful. Reflexology inductions
are meant to help “kick-start” labor if the body is stalled
or simply not committing to the labor process. This massage is not designed
to be an invasive treatment to start premature labor before ones expected
due date. Fee: $125
C-Section Recovery:
The goal of this therapeutic massage is to prevent the formation of adhesions.
The body’s own healing mechanism causes the laying down of collagen
post-surgically. The collagen can create adhesions. Through the use of
heat, friction massage, and castor oil packs, adhesion fibers can be reabsorbed
into the collagen matrix of the tissue surrounding the scar. This massage
is designed to improve circulation, and can eliminate the fascial restrictions
generated by older scars. Gentle Swedish massage strokes are applied to
the entire body, aromatherapy and herbal heat packs are utilized as well.
Fee: $95
Sciatica Release:
Sciatica is a condition when pain is present in the sciatic nerve, which
radiates from the buttocks down the back of the leg to the knee and even
sometimes all the way to the big toe. Often one side of the hip feels
worse than the other. This therapeutic massage alleviates tension on the
sacrum by manipulating specified muscle groups. Hot and cold compresses
are used to treat the painful areas. Stretches, counter-pressure and trigger-point
therapy is utilized. Fee: $95
